I am not very happy with the structure of my blog. It is not designed for you or me. The flow doesnt focus on what is needed from a blog.
The graphics are good though, I like it. The green bubbly spring is in the air theme looks refreshing. For me, it was like a breath of fresh air. I felt caved in because I had chosen a conceptual domain name: none.be. Only minimalistic, grayish designs could spring from such a vast concept.
I started thinking about redesigning my blog after reading a post I like big buttons and I cannot lie from Garret Dimon.
Garret uses 4 pilars for the redesign: simple, big, content and flow. Go and have a look, you’ll see what I mean.
His blog is soooo simple and everything flows naturally. No long list of links, just reading material and a couple of links to previous posts. The structure really focuses on what a blog is all about: reading, commenting, discussion.
It looks like less is more and in this case it is so obviously true.
I am going to restructure this blog/website and use IA techniques to get it back on the right track. Ill be documenting the whole process and showing what comes along: documents, notes and any other stuff like that.
Maybe YOU ll be featured as a persona:-)
So no code, Ill stick to the (X)HTML/CSS techniques and will only change a few things in the HTML code. And I will probably have to redo the CSS file, but that is not important here. These are just tools to get things working.
I wonder if you have some remarks. So if something really annoys you about this website, and if it is not me, please leave me a comment and I will take it into account. There is really nothing better than real users telling me what is wrong with a website.
